Currently, the suction heads on the market are made of polypropylene plastic (a colorless and transparent plastic with high chemical inertness and a wide temperature range). However, the same polypropylene can vary greatly in quality: high-quality tips are generally made of natural polypropylene, while cheap tips are likely to use recycled polypropylene plastic (in this case, we can at most Said that its main component is polypropylene).
In addition, most pipette tips will add a small number of additives during the manufacturing process, the common ones are 1, color-developing materials. Commonly known as a blue tip (1000ul) and yellow tip (200ul) in the market, the corresponding color-developing material is added to polypropylene (we hope it is a high-quality masterbatch, not cheap industrial pigment); 2. Release agent. Help the tip to break away from the mold quickly after forming. Of course, the more additives, the higher the chance of undesired chemical reactions occurring during pipetting. So try not to add additives! However, due to the relatively high requirements for the production process, tips without additives are rare in the market.
Everyone is generally very cautious when buying pipettes. They want to spend a little money to buy a good brand with high precision; but when we buy tips, we don’t pay much attention to them, and we will buy some cost-effective ones at will. The tip is also the primary condition that endangers the test results, and it is also likely to endanger the service life of the pipette.
There are three types of pipette tips: regular tips, filter tips, and low retention tips.
1. Ordinary suction head.
Tips and tip racks are autoclavable at 121°C/15psi. It is suitable for pipettes of different brands and models with excellent compatibility. 2. Filter tip

The filter tip is a new upgrade of ordinary information. Based on the available suction head, the filter suction head is added, and the diameter is enlarged, which ensures excellent ventilation while isolating the actual effect. There are various models: 10/100/200/1000 microliters. The color is transparent.
There are three benefits: 1. Guarantee the safety of testers: it can reduce the spread of dangerous goods and ensure the safety of actual operators to a greater extent. Two to ensure sample safety: no pyrogens, no DNase/Rnase, and no PCR inhibitors, to avoid cross-environmental contamination. Three guarantee the safety of the pipette: prevent liquid from rushing into the chamber, maintain accuracy and accuracy, and increase the service life of the pipette.
3. Low adsorption tip.
The surface layer of the low adsorption tip is treated with a hydrophobic solution, which can reduce the situation that the low interfacial tension liquid leaves more residue in the tip. It can minimize the damage to the sample, prevent protein digestion and absorption, and conveniently remove viscous raw materials, gene DNA, or fragile cell culture substrates, which is guarantee for obtaining high-precision detection results.
